Hotel Chateau Mere is located in Telavi. It is located from Tbilisi International Airport at 1 hours and 15 minutes drive, from bus station at 20 minutes drive.

Chateau Mere opened in September 2011 near Telavi, the main city of Kakheti, Georgia’s wine-producing region.  It is just 1.15 hour (90km/56miles) drive East from Tbilisi.  Chateau Mere a 1,500 sqm (16,146sq ft) stone castle with four pointed towers and wood paneled balconies occupies 15,000 square meters (180,000 square yards) of land.  To accommodate diverse interests of its guests Chateau Mere complex comprises a winery, a restaurant, a big conference hall, a gift shop, an outside swimming pool and a horse stable. 

There is a spacious conference hall for 100 persons equipped with all modern amenities. The conference hall with an open veranda in the backyard is conveniently located by a Lounge Bar Mere where coffee breaks and lunches are served.

 

Chateau Mere entertains its guests and visitors with a wide range of activities: picking and crashing grapes, learning about wines and cheese making, baking bread, making churchkhelas (fruit leather coated walnuts), riding horses, hiking, shopping for local produce, products and hand-crafted gifts.

Chateau Mere arranges tastings of the Winiveria fine dry red and white wines from Georgian endemic grape varieties such as Kisi (awarded with the Gold Medal at the 3rd Georgian National Wine Contest in 2010), Khikhvi, Kakhuri Mtsvane, Rkatsiteli and Saperavi.

The Mere Restaurant serves Georgian traditional cuisine made from organic food from local produce catered to all pallets. A breakfast buffet is provided at the hotel. In the evenings, guests can enjoy a drink at the bar.

Chateau Mere has an outside swimming pool and open-air Jacuzzi on the roof with a gorgeous view of Caucasus Mountains and Alazani Valley. The local weather extends the swimming pool season from May till October.

Chateau Mere has the best location for hiking to Shuamta Old and New Monasteries and Mountain Tsivi and for horseback riding tours to the 8th century monastery Shios Marani and the 6th century monastery Ikalto Academy. Chateau Mere is a short drive from the main historic sites in Kakheti: Telavi, Akhali and Dzveli Shuamta, Alaverdi, Ikalto, Shio’s Marani (church 6-9 cc.) Chateau Mere organizes guided tours to historic sites and wineries in Kakheti.

Chateau Mere has classically decorated rooms featuring antique-style furnishings. Shuttle services can be arranged.

Останавливались в этом отеле на 3 ночи. Было очень комфортно и уютно. Персонал очень внимательный и приветливый. У нас было трехразовое питание: завтрак были не очень разнообразными, обед и ужин – без претензий. Хорошее место для расслабленного, спокойного отдыха.

Провели в этом необычном отеле 2 дня. Нас встретили очень радушно. Но в номере в миибаре не оказалось воды, хотя после нашей просьбы, ее доставили. Это плюс. Также в комнате нет возможности выпить чай, что не очень удобно. Из окна открывается хороший вид. Понравился ресторан, вкусная еда.

About the hotel:

Отдыхали в этом отеле с подругой. У нас был очень просторный, приятный номер с роскошным видом на сад. На территории расположен бассейн, лежаки, маленькие столики. Очень приятно там проводить время. Большое спасибо всему персоналу за отзывчивость. В ресторане обслуживание было немного медленным, но в целом нормально. Хорошее место для расслабления.

About the hotel:

Приехала в этот отель по совету знакомых для расслабления и дегустации вина. Необычный дизайн, простая, но чистая и комфортная комната. С моей комнаты открывался потрясающий вид. Есть бассейны. Персонал приятный, ресторан предлагает вкусную еду. За вином приехала не зря! Рекомендую.
